Registration is now open for “Anti-Racist Solidarity and the Fight for Justice in Palestine”, IJV’s 15th anniversary conference! We warmly invite you to join us in Toronto June 16-17 for what promises to be an exciting and memorable event.
The conference will take place Friday-Saturday followed by our 2023 IJV Annual General Meeting on Sunday, June 18. The AGM will be hybrid in-person and online with the option to join via Zoom.
We cannot be more excited to reunite in person and fuel our movement for the years to come.
We will be hearing from activists, scholars, journalists and organizers about the intersection of anti-racism and Palestine solidarity and new strategies for action within Jewish communities.
Some of the confirmed speakers include Leah Gazan, Mark Ayyash, Shree Paradkar, Demond Cole, Mitchell Plitnick, Michele Landsberg, and many more!
We’re also thrilled to be hosting a 15th anniversary concert and celebration on Saturday, June 17th at 7:30pm at the United Steelworkers Hall, 25 Cecil street. Tickets are $25 or PYWC, and are on sale now!
We are in a crucial moment of political change and movement-building. As the new Israeli government loses legitimacy, the IHRA working definition of antisemitism is being pushed as an “anti-racist” strategy to shield Israel from criticism, all the while fuelling anti-Palestinian racism and isolating the fight against antisemitism from the broader anti-racist movement.
Join the conversation as we learn and strategize ways to centre anti-racism in our solidarity with Palestinians, advance intersectional approaches to combatting antisemitism, and grow Jewish cultural and community work against settler-colonialism and Israeli apartheid.
See you there!
